Specs for Rotax Snowmobile Engines

Rotax has been making engines since 1920. The company builds motors for many different vehicles including snowmobiles, ATVs, aircraft, boats and motorcycles. Rotax's engine line-up includes both two-stroke and four-stroke models.

Two-Stroke Engines

Rotax produces three two-stroke engines for Skidoo. Its most powerful engine is the two-cylinder E-TEC 800R, which has 800cc of displacement and produces 164 horsepower while getting an impressive 19mpg. The two-cylinder E-TEC 600 H.O. has 600cc of displacement, producing 115 horsepower, while getting 21mpg. The two-cylinder 800R Power T.E.K. produces 147 horsepower, while getting 16.7mpg.

Four-Stoke Engines

Rotax produces two four-stroke engines. The 600 ACE produces 60 horsepower while getting an industry leading 29mpg. The 4-TEC 1200 has 1200cc of displacement, producing 125 horsepower while getting 18mpg.

E-TEC Technology

Skidoo's E-TEC technology is a combination of sophisticated engine controls including 3-D R.A.V.E exhaust valves, electronic oil pump, digital ignition and an open-loop fuel system.
