The Dell Latitude Ppo1l is a Windows-based laptop computer. If you have noticed your computer getting slower, you might want to update its random access memory (RAM). RAM on your Dell is what gives the computer speed when trying to open documents or software applications. Updating your RAM will not only make the computer more functional, it can stabilise an otherwise unbalanced computer. You can do this yourself with little knowledge of computers.

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • New RAM card

Instructions

  1. 1

    Unplug the computer's power supply and battery from the system.

  2. 2

    Touch a piece of unpainted metal to ground yourself.

  3. 3

    Close the computer and turn it upside down. Use a small Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the memory module cover in place. The memory module is labelled on the system.

  4. 4

    Lift the memory module cover off of the computer's casing.

  5. 5

    Slide your new RAM card into the RAM slot by the memory module connectors.

  6. 6

    Replace the memory module door and replace the screws holding it onto the system.

  7. 7

    Replace the power supply and the battery.
