Certain photo hosting sites have a limit on how large a photo you're uploading can be. This doesn't mean that there is a limit on the physical dimensions of the photo, but rather the file size. If a hosting site has a size limit of 2 MB photos, for example, a 3 MB photo will be blocked during the upload process. You can resize images and make them smaller using native Windows tools.
Click "Start" and type "Paint" into the search box. Click the "Paint" icon that appears. Microsoft Paint will open.
Click the "Open" toolbar button. Select the file you want to reduce the size of from its location on your computer. This will open the file in Paint.
Click "File." Click "Save As."
Select the icon for "JPEG Picture." The JPEG is a heavily compressed photo file format. Click "OK" to save your picture in the JPEG file format. This will reduce the size of your digital photo to under 100 kilobytes, depending on the original size of the file. This will allow you to upload your picture to any photo service you'd like.
