Updated April 17, 2017

Removing the front lights from the Nissan Primera is a straightforward task that requires no mechanical expertise or previous experience. The process takes no more than 30 minutes to complete and can be done without the aid of any special tools. Removing the front lights on the Primera may be necessary if you need to replace a damaged light housing or to change the bulbs. It also may be necessary if the car needs a new paint job.

  1. Locate the bonnet release catch and open the Nissan Primera bonnet. The catch will be underneath the steering column inside the car. Make sure the engine is not running and the keys are not in the ignition.

  2. Disconnect the back panel from the driver side light. This is inside the bonnet and in front of the engine. Repeat the action for the passenger side front light. Remove the protective rubber seal from both lights.

  3. Remove the bulbs from the front lights. This is done by rotating the catch holding the bulbs in place. Carefully remove the head lamp from the chassis exterior. This is done by gently pushing the lamp out by placing a hand inside the bonnet at the back of the front light. Use the cleaning cloth to remove any debris from the light cavities.
