Regardless of which type of Kodak printer you have, knowing how to troubleshoot common issues can save you a lot of money, since the cost of service on a Kodak printer can be quite high. Occasionally a printer may stop printing a specific ink colour, such a black.
This may not mean your printer is irreparably damaged, but instead may be an issue with the black printer cartridge that is easily corrected.
Lift the lid of your Kodak printer and wait for the print cartridges to come to the centre. Do not touch the print carriage or attempt to move it by hand---doing so can cause severe damage to the Kodak printer.
Lift the cartridge cover and tilt the black print cartridge forward. Carefully lift the black printer cartridge free of the printer. Set the print cartridge aside and close the printer cover.

Turn the black print cartridge upside down examine it for dried ink and paper dust. Over time the print cartridge can accumulate debris, and that debris can block the ink jets and cause the cartridge to stop working.
Dip a cotton swab in a bit of warm water and carefully clean the bottom of the cartridge until all dried ink and paper dust has been removed. If there is a heavy accumulation of ink and paper dust, use a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol instead of warm water.
