Good grooming not only makes people look better, it also helps them feel better. Many people spend a lot of time taking showers, fixing their hair and choosing clothes to wear. Keeping your hands and nails in good condition takes some time, but it is worth it to see the results. You can avoid ragged-looking cuticles by following a simple weekly routine.

Soak your hands in a medium-size bowl containing one-half cup milk and two cups of warm water. Use a small nail clipper to trim your wet cuticles after you soak your hands.

Homemade Cuticle Softener

Prick a liquid vitamin E capsule with a straight pin. Squeeze the vitamin E oil into a small bowl and add 1 tbsp olive oil. Dip each finger into the mixture. Use a wooden cuticle stick to push back the cuticles on your fingers. Rub the remaining mixture thoroughly into your hands and fingers.

Care for Cuticles and Hands

Pour a small amount of olive oil onto your hands every night. Massage it all over your hands and nails to keep your hands soft and beautiful.

Put on cotton gloves at least one night a week after you treat your hands with the olive oil, before you go to bed. The gloves seal in the moisturising effects of the oil and keep your hands soft.
