Hi my name's Peter and I'm here today to teach you how to put out an electrical fire. A kitchen is always one of your biggest dangers for electrical fire. Using many appliances close to water, you're using blenders that can easily short out and cause a fire, so if an electrical fire ever were to happen, what you would want to do is first of all, call 911 immediately. You never know if you're going to be able to get the fire out by yourself and it's always better to have the fire department come and put out the fire in case you can't. Secondly what you want to do is go turn off the source of your power. You can't get an electrical fire out until you go down and turn off the circuit breaker which controls that fire. The best thing to do would be to turn off your entire circuit breaker for the whole house. So run outside to your electrical box and turn off your main circuit breaker. After that, you can come back inside and work on putting out that fire. What you want to use to put it out is a class C fire extinguisher. This is a class B and C fire extinguisher that is made for the kitchen. This is with the class C fire extinguisher, it'll make sure that'll put out any of the sparks that are coming from your electrical unit that malfunctioned. And that is how you put out an electrical fire.
