Feng Shui Cures for Prosperity

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese philosophy that governs how to arrange your surroundings to achieve the most auspicious flow of life energy. Feng shui is thought to affect reputation, relationships, creativity, travel, career, knowledge, health, family and prosperity. Prosperity, in particular, is supposed to respond to the feng shui principle of “like attracts like,” and there are many placement techniques that are intended to increase your posterity, suggests Feng Shui Palace.

“Power Spot”

The part of your room, house or yard that is associated with prosperity is the back left-hand corner, seen from the doorway or the area where you most often enter the space. Since “like attracts like,” it is important to set up this area, in such a way, so the energy or “chi” will be able to flow freely. Keeping this area clean and clutter-free allows the chi to move, which should reflexively unclog your cash flow. Fix or replace anything in this area that does not work properly. Plug sinks and close toilet lids, throughout the building, but especially if they are in the power spot; as this will prevent your prosperity from “going down the drain.”

Pay Attention

If you take care of your money, feng shui says that your money will take care of you; so pay attention to your financial situation every day. Pay your bills on time, keep your checkbook balanced and sort your money neatly in your purse or wallet rather than leaving it crumpled in your pocket. If you can, keep your valuables in the back left-hand corner of a room or of your desk; having your checkbook, piggy bank or jewellery box in the prosperity hot-spot will attract more prosperity to these items. According to Spiritual.com, you should spend the money you do have generously; stinginess will block the flow of energy, thus blocking the flow of money, rather than making the way clear for ever more abundance.

Chinese lore associates stove burners with wealth, so make sure that all of yours are in good working order; you also can hang a mirror behind the stove, to reflect the burners and double your apparent prosperity. Purple is the colour associated with wealth, so use it in your surroundings—especially in the back left corner of the space. In feng shui, crystals are energy boosters, chimes attract energy and the colour red activates it, so use all three when decorating your prosperity corner. A growing plant in the prosperity area also will stimulate wealth to grow, and a bowl of fruit in, the back left corner of the kitchen, will attract abundance to your whole home—make sure it is always at least half full.
