At some point, most everyone wonders what it's like to be a movie star. Movie star and film-themed parties are popular because they unite people with a common interest. Crafts are a fun activity to do at parties or to create decorations for the party itself. These movie star crafts are perfect for children and adults alike. Have some fun with your next movie star or Oscar party and get crafty.

Marquee Sign

Create a marquee sign with the honoured guest's name in the centre. Make it out of foam board and paint the name of the movie (the person's name) or a play on words in the centre. Glue half circles of foam board around the outside of the sign. Tape a string of Christmas lights around the outside of the marquee to light it up.

Walk Of Fame Stars

Make personalised walk of fame stars for each person. These can be made out of construction paper, cardboard or foam. Alternatively, make them out of clay like the actual stars on the walk of the fame so that they can put their handprints into the clay beside their name.

Make craft spotlights to use as decoration for the party or any movie-themed room. Take a canister and paint it black. Cut four trapezoids out of black foam. Tape all four trapezoids around the canister's edge in a square fashion and use black electrical tape to secure.

Movie Posters

Make movie posters featuring photos of the guests. Take a Polaroid or digital picture (and print out immediately) as guests arrive. Let them take their photo and make it into a custom movie poster on poster board. Create a craft table with markers, stickers, coloured pencils, scissors and construction paper.

Awards Trophy

Make miniature awards trophies out of clay. Paint the trophies and add a plaque with the titles such as "Best Smile," "Top Monologue" and "Most Kissable Lips."

Sparkling Sunglasses

Get several pairs of plastic sunglasses. Let kids decorate the glasses with glitter, rhinestones, puffy paint and feathers. These can be their movie star glasses that they walk around in and strut down the red carpet.
