"The Terminator" franchise follows the lives of Sarah Connor and her son, John Connor, as they battle the artificial intelligence, Skynet, and the cyborgs they control. The original movie, released in 1984, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, still captures the minds of viewers in the 21st century. If you want to recreate one of the characters from any of the three movies for your next costume party, make your own and avoid spending a fortune on a store-bought costume.

Human Terminator

Recreating the human look of the Terminator requires little more than clothing you have around your home or find at the local thrift store. Wear a black form-fitting T-shirt and a pair of black leather trousers. Add a black leather jacket and black leather motorcycle boats. Finish the look with a slicked back hairstyle and a pair of solid black sunglasses. In some scenes, the Terminator's shirt is torn. If you want to achieve this look, cut a small slit in the T-shirt. Use your hands to rip the shirt around the cut. Add blood using fake blood to create wounds.

Cyborg Terminator

Since the Terminator is a cyborg and takes damage throughout the movie, adding a robotic look is another costume option. Repeat the human Terminator look using all black clothing. Purchase a Terminator face mask from a costume shop. These masks have a partial human look with a tear in the skin, showing the metal underlay. Alternatively, create the look using face paint. Use silver paint for anywhere the skin peels away. Add metal detailing, such as teeth, using darker silver shading.

Sarah Connor

Sarah Connor, the female protagonist, has a straightforward outfit, making her look easy to create. Wear a charcoal grey fitted tank top. Pair it with a pair of black cargo trousers, a large, black leather belt and black leather boots. Wear your hair pulled back into a high ponytail. For eye wear, choose a pair of round, wire-rimmed glasses in black. If desired, carry a toy gun to accentuate the look.

John Connor

Sarah's son, John, helps in the Skynet battle in later movies. To create a John Connor look, wear a pair of blue jeans and a black T-shirt. Add an olive green button up shirt over top. Leave the shirt unbuttoned and roll up the sleeves. Wear a gold, round faced watch with a tan band. If you have longer hair, allow it to fall around your eyes.
