There are a few different options when choosing a stroller for twins, such as placing one child in front of the other or side by side as they ride. Carefully research your options when choosing the right stroller to fit your lifestyle. Since double strollers are a large investment, making the right choice the first time saves you money in the long run.

Double Tandem Strollers

Tandem strollers arrange the two baby seats in a line, with one in front of the other. Graco offers a Duoglider, which runs roughly £84 to £162 as of April 2011. This stroller can accommodate two infant car seats. However, it's difficult to see the child in the rear infant seat due to the placement of the carriers, according to Stroller Advisory. Children can ride comfortably in both seats, with the rear seat slightly raised to offer "stadium seating." Steering the stroller is easy and the system has good suspension. The stroller folds up easily and compactly, though it is not recommended for compact cars because of its length. Altogether the system weighs 13.6 Kilogram.

The Jeep Tandem stroller runs £129.90 as of April 2011 and only holds one infant car seat in the rear seat. This stroller folds up slim, so it takes up less boot space. The smart handle accommodates parents of different heights when pushing. The stroller offers ample storage space and a removable cup holder.

Jogging Strollers

Jogging strollers are equipped with three wheels, generally bicycle type wheels, for easy running. The BOB Sport Utility Duallie stroller is a side-by-side stroller designed for off-road adventures. The suspension system keeps children comfortable while riding around in this stroller. Infant car seats can be attached, and a snack bar to hold the child's snack and sippy cup is available to attach to either seat. The front wheel can be adjusted to swivel or remain straight for rougher terrain when hiking or running. The stroller is lightweight and easy to collapse for transporting. This stroller retails for £311.9 as of April 2011.

The InStep Suburban Safari Double Jogging Stroller offers 12 inch wheels all around for easy walking and jogging in any terrain. An under-the-seat basket provides space for anything you may need during your outing. With a one hand fold, this lightweight stroller fits easily into the boot of any car. As of April 2011, it retailed for £110.4 to £122.1.

Sit and Stand

Sit and stand double strollers are designed to allow one child to sit in the front seat while the other stands on a platform or sits on a smaller jump seat in the rear of the stroller. Baby Trend offers a sit and stand stroller that runs £84.5 as of April 2011. The removable rear seat converts to a standing platform for children as they grow older. The basket is hard to get to, however, when both seats are attached, because it's completely underneath the seats. This stroller comes designed with a one hand fold up, making it easier to close down when you're finished using it. It takes up quite a bit of room in the boot due to its length. With its narrow design, this stroller makes shopping and manoeuvring between small spaces easier.

The Joovy Caboose Tandem sit and stand stroller is lightweight and compact when folded up. The car seat attachment for the front seat is universal, so you don't have to purchase the same brand. As of April 2011, this seat runs £258.5.

Double Universal Car Seat Carriers

Universal car seat carriers are simple frames designed to hold two infant car seat carriers in place while you walk. Retailing for £55 as of April 2011, the Baby Trend Double Snap and Go stroller frame is lightweight and sturdy. There is an extra large basket under the frame that accommodates diaper bags and your own personal bags. The front wheel of this stroller swivels for smooth driving and it's quick to fold up and store in your boot. This stroller comes with a parent tray that includes cup holders at the top.
