The Sims is a life-simulator game that allows you to customise a home for your characters according to your preferences. If you're a Sims gamer, you may have seen videos and screen shots of the second edition of the Sims in which flooring in certain houses is shiny and reflective creating an eye-grabbing effect. In order to change your regular wood flooring to a reflective one, you must download an application and follow a few steps to activate it.

Instructions

  1. 1

Download the modification. Reflective floors are not standard equipment and must be downloaded. Reflective flooring is available through The Sims Resource website (thesimsresource.com) via an application called "Millenium -- Reflective Walls & Floors" by Murano. It is a pay object and you must subscribe to download it. Once you've subscribed, search "Murano" to find the download.

  2. 2

Enable "reflections" from the game options menu once you've downloaded and installed the Millenium program. The reflections enabling option is in the main options menu under "graphics" and "mirrors." Your wood floors will now be enhanced with the reflective feature.

  3. 3

Make sure your game performance setting is on "high" in order to properly render the reflections. Your video card must also be up to the task of delivering the best image quality. You can access the website of your computer manufacturer to obtain the most up-to-date drivers for your graphics card.
