When you first set up your Lexmark X4550 printer, you have the opportunity to create a PIN you can use to access the administrative functions of the unit. If you later want to get rid of that PIN setting, you can go back and do a cold reset on the X4550. Doing a cold reset on the printer sets it back to its original settings, allowing you to either reestablish the PIN or leave it blank.
