How to Erase Your Lexmark X4550 PIN Number

When you first set up your Lexmark X4550 printer, you have the opportunity to create a PIN you can use to access the administrative functions of the unit. If you later want to get rid of that PIN setting, you can go back and do a cold reset on the X4550. Doing a cold reset on the printer sets it back to its original settings, allowing you to either reestablish the PIN or leave it blank.

    Power the Lexmark X4550 off and wait for it to shut down. Press the "Settings" button on the control panel and hold it down.

    Hold the "Settings" button while powering the printer on. Watch for the power light to start blinking.

  3. 3

    Press the button that looks like a check mark. Hold that button down until the power light comes on steady. The printer settings are now reset.
