Nothing says "all access" like a VIP badge around a person's neck or hanging from a person's belt loop. Make VIP badges as accessories for a themed birthday party or themed movie-viewing party. Make the badges on the computer with your favourite program and laminate them or slide them into badge holders to make them look authentic. Soon, everyone at your event or party will be walking around looking like authentic VIPs.

  1. 1

Design a badge with a template on your computer. You want a template that will create badges or ID cards. The typical size of a badge is about 2.7 by 4.5 inches. If you are making several badges, look at pre-made badge cutouts that may be available at office supply stores. These cutouts are made of a card stock and can be inserted into your printer. They will even give information on where and how to use the specific template for the badges.

  2. 2

Play around with the badge by experimenting with various backgrounds, colours and fonts.

  3. 3

Print the badge and cut it out.

  4. 4

Use a self-laminating badge kit to laminate around the badge. These kits will also come with a small hole at the top where you can put a badge clip or string a lanyard through. Or, purchase clear badge holders from an office supply store. The badge holders are just a pocket for your VIP pass and don't require lamination.

  5. 5

Take it to a printing service centre if you are only making one. They will be able to laminate the one for you in the same manner as a self-laminating kit would.
