A PAE file is an encrypted file created by PowerArchiver, a file archiver program for Windows that supports PAE and other various encoded formats. The PAE format uses varying types of encryption, including DES (64-bit), Blowfish (128-bit) and AES 256-bit. As of June 2011, PowerArchiver 2010 is the latest version of the program. The PowerArchiver 2010 supports Windows 7, and features a more modern interface that allows you to easily open PAE files.
