How to Read Tweets Without Following

Updated April 17, 2017

Twitter can be a great resource for keeping up with interesting people, learning new information, and staying up-to-date on current trends and gossip. However, sometimes it's desirable to not "follow" a person's profile, even though you want to read their updates. This can be for reasons of privacy or because you don't want to make the person's profile to appear more influential by having a higher number of followers. It is simple to view a person's tweets without following them.

Determine the Internet address of the tweeter's profile. This will usually begin with "!/"

Go to the web address.

Read the user's tweets. This can be done whether or not you're logged into Twitter, and doesn't require you to follow the person's profile.
