Game emulators are programs that allow you to play console games, such as Sony PlayStation 2 games, on your computer. The PS2 emulator contains the same computer programming code as the PS2, which allows it to read the PS2 game discs and run them. PS2 emulators also can run a downloaded ISO archive file or disc image of the game. Run a PS2 emulator on your computer and play your favourite PS2 games.

Download and install the PS2 emulator program. Download and install the PS2 BIOS files. Save the BIOS files in the same folder as the PS2 emulator. Type "PS2 BIOS files" into your preferred search engine to find them for a free download.

  2. 2

Run the PS2 emulator program. Look in the PS2 emulator file for "pcsx2.exe" and double click on it to run the "Virtual Memory" PS2 emulator program. If you don't have the file, look for and double click on the "TLB" "pcsx2t.exe" file to run the program.

  3. 3

Select the "Config" tab in the PS2 emulator program window. Select "Configure" to open the "Configuration" dialogue box. Select "Set BIOS Directory." Select the folder that contains the PS2 BIOS files that you downloaded. Click "OK" to return to the "Configuration" dialogue box. Click on "Set BIOS Directory," which is located at the bottom left of the dialogue box. At the bottom of the dialogue box is a drop-down menu labelled "BIOS." Select the region that you are in, such as "USA v01.60(07/02/2002) Console" for the United States to run the correct BIOS files for your computer type.

  4. 4

Click on "Set Plugins Directory." Select "ZeroGS KOSMOS." Select GSdx (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.8 in the "Graphics" drop down menu. Select "P.E.Op.S. CDVD (CDDA mod) 1.3.0" from the "Cdvdrom" drop-down menu if you are going to be playing a game from a PS2 game disc. If you are using a ROM instead of a CD, select the "Linuzappz Iso CDVD" from the "Cdvdrom" drop-down menu. Click "OK."

  5. 5

Insert your PS2 disc into your computer's CD drive. The game will load and the emulator will run your game. If you are going to play a game from a ROM, click on "File." Select "Open ELF file" and select the file. The emulator will run the game.
