Infinity scarves first became popular as window dressing in trendy mall boutiques. These endless knit or crocheted circles are basically very large loops. You can crochet your own infinity scarf in one afternoon with soft, chunky yarn. This scarf project uses the chain stitch and single crochet, so it's an ideal garment or gift idea for beginners to make. Loop the infinity scarf twice around your neck for a quick fashion accessory.

Instructions

  1. 1

Make a loop on the end of one strand of yarn. Make 150 chain stitches. Slip stitch the last stitch to the first stitch to make a loop.

  2. 2

Single crochet in the first chain after the slip stitch and in every chain afterward until you end up where you started. This is the first row.

  3. 3

Single crochet nine more rows in the same manner. You will now have a large loop made of 10 crochet rows.

  4. 4

Cut the end of the yarn off. Pull the yarn through the last stitch to secure the crocheting. Weave the loose end through the stitching by pulling it with the crochet hook back and forth. This will hide the loose end in the work.

Tips and warnings

  • Check the labels on each skein to ensure you buy them both from the same dye lot.
