How to Give Books As a Gift to Someone's Kindle

Updated February 21, 2017

Launched in 2007, the Amazon Kindle is capable of holding 3,500 books. To help users fill their devices, anyone can give a gift of Kindle books quickly and easily. Both users of the wireless reading device and those who have downloaded a free Kindle reading application can receive these ebooks. Giving books as a gift to someone's Kindle takes only an Amazon account and an e-mail address.

Sign in to your Amazon account with your e-mail address and password. If you do not have an account, you can quickly set one up by clicking "Start here" at the top of any page.

Click the downward facing arrow next to "Shop All Departments" on the left side of the page. Select "Kindle," and then "eBooks" from the menu.

Locate and click the Kindle book you want to give.

Select the "Give as Gift" button from the right side of the page.

Enter the recipient's personal e-mail address as well as an optional message.

Click "Place your order" to send the Kindle book to the recipient's e-mail address.
