"The Sims 3: Late Night" expansion pack introduced a new game element with the fame rating system, which gives your Sim the ability to become a famous celebrity and make headlines in the Sim world. Making headlines and the fame level of your Sim go hand in hand as celebrity Sims cause the paparazzi to appear. If the paparazzi takes a picture of your Sim interacting with a celebrity, or if you build your Sim up to become a celebrity, there is a chance you will be able to read a headline story about your Sim in the newspaper the next morning.
- Skill level:
- Moderately Easy
Read the newspaper each morning to see if your Sim has made the headlines and to get an idea of where celebrity Sims are being seen around town. The newspaper will also tell you which clubs your Sim can get into without having to bribe the bouncer. Clubs and bars are the best place to run into celebrity Sims.
Approach celebrity Sims to try and impress them. If you are able to impress a celebrity you will have the option to build your friendship with that celebrity or even enter into a romance like with other Sims in the game.
Choose from the social options: Brag About Money, Brag About Skills, Talk About Career or Name Drop to impress a celebrity. If you have more money, better skill levels, a similar career field or know an even more famous Sim you will be able to impress the celebrity and open up new social interactions.
Raise your own fame levels by befriending or dating celebrities. The higher a celebrity's fame rating, the more you will increase your own level of fame. A high level of fame will cause the paparazzi to follow you around or wait outside your home.
Perform newsworthy actions in front of the paparazzi once you have a high enough relationship level with a celebrity, are in a romantic relationship with a celebrity or have become a celebrity yourself. Newsworthy actions include things like kissing a Sim, cheating on a spouse, passing out or getting into a fight.
