When you create a Second Life account you are given an avatar that has a basic shape and skin. You can change the appearance of your avatar by buying skin, shapes, eye colour and body parts. There may come a time that you want to modify your avatar without buying a shape and skin. If you make a mistake while modifying your avatar, you can reset your avatar to start over.

Double click on your Second Life viewer located on your computer desktop to open the login screen. The viewer is the software you download to your computer when you created your Second Life account.
Sign into Second Life with your username and password. The sign in space is located on the bottom tool bar on the login screen.
Click on the "Advance" menu tab located at the top of the screens toolbar. Scroll down to the "Show Develop menu." You can also open the "Advance" menu tab on a PC by holding down the CTRL, ALT and D keys.
Click on the "Show Develop Menu" to open the "Develop" tab. The "Develop" tab will appear on the top toolbar of your screen.
Click on the "Develop" tab to open a drop down menu. Scroll down to "Avatar" and hover your cursor over "Avatar" and it will open a side drop down menu. From the "Avatar" drop down menu locate "Character Test."
Hover your cursor over "Character Test" to open a menu. You can select "Test Male" or "Test Female" from this menu. Click on the test that you want and your avatar will reset to a default avatar.
