Tagging someone in a sentence on Facebook is a great way to let others know that you and the friend are doing the same activity. It's also a good way to let the person you tag know that the message you are typing is about them. Facebook only allows you to tag people who have confirmed you as a friend. When you tag a friend, a hyperlink is created to the person's profile. You can tag someone's name in your status updates and comments.

Log in to your Facebook account with the registered e-mail address and password. Your news feed is displayed when you log in to your account.

Click the "What's On Your Mind" field to update your status.

Enter the text for your sentence or status in the field.

Type "@" followed by the person's name you want to tag. A list of names will be displayed below the status field. Click the person's name to add the tag.

Finish your sentence or status, and click "Share."
