Sigourney Weaver created one of the strongest female characters ever written when she played Ripley in the movie "Aliens." Whether she was toting heavy weapons or facing an alien head-on, Ripley's grungy style was one-of-a-kind. You can recreate this look in your own Ripley costume from the movie "Aliens." Plan to get dirty if you're going totally authentic; Ripley got sweatier and dirtier the longer the movie went on.

  1. 1

Lay a beige T-shirt on the ground and rub dirt onto the front of it. Use plain dirt from your garden and grind it into the fabric of the shirt. Shake the shirt to remove any loose pieces of soil.

  2. 2

Put on the dirty T-shirt. Add a pair of grey parachute trousers with zipper pockets. Tuck the shirt into the trousers.

  3. 3

Wear a pair of high-top shoes. Find shoes in red and white with the most vinyl in the construction as possible. Tuck the bottom of the trousers into the shoes.

  4. 4

Clip a pair of leather suspenders to the trousers. Adjust the suspenders so that they fit snugly against your body.

  5. 5

Rub dark brown foundation make-up in random spots over your face to simulate dirt smears. Wear a black curly wig cut to shoulder length.

  6. 6

Grab a large futuristic-looking machine gun complete with webbing to sling the gun over your shoulder.
