Disconnect the power cable from the back of the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen.
Disconnect the VGA or DVI cable (depending upon the set-up) from the back of the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen. This is the only other integral cable that plugs into the back of the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen, and the port the cable goes into is colour coded. A VGA cable will need to be disconnected from the blue-labelled VGA port, while a DVI cable will need to be unplugged from the white-labelled DVI port.
Examine the bezel of the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen, which is the glossy black piece which runs around the perimeter of the actual display. On the back and sides of the bezel there are screws that are covered with plastic caps for aesthetic purposes. Remove these caps using a thin-edged object that can pry underneath and pop the seals up, such as the tip of a flat head screwdriver.
Take out the bezel screws using a Phillips head screwdriver.
Pry the bezel gently off by creating separation between it and the rest of the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen using your fingertips. Remove the Syncmaster's bezel entirely.
Disconnect the inverter cable on the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen. The green inverter board is accessible after you remove the bezel. This board is on the bottom of the LCD screen, and the inverter cable lies directly on this and connects into a white connector on the right-hand side. Lift up slightly on this connector and pull out the cable.
Create separation between the actual display of the Syncmaster 2233 LCD monitor and the back of the monitor assembly. This will reveal the LCD ribbon cable. This cable comes out of the top of the back casing of the LCD monitor and connects to the bottom of the LCD screen via a clear piece of adhesive tape. Remove this tape.
Disconnect the LCD ribbon cable from the connector now that the tape is removed. Lift up on the connector and pull the LCD screen's ribbon cable out.
Pull the Syncmaster 2233 LCD screen up and out.
Slide the new LCD screen into the monitor assembly. Replace the ribbon cable and inverter cable.
Slide the bezel back over the unit and fix it in place by inserting the screws with the Phillips head screwdriver. Pop the screw caps back over the screws.
