How to make magnetic earrings look real

Updated April 17, 2017

You don't have to go through the painful process of having your ears pierced to make your earrings look real. Magnetic earrings are a painless replacement for traditional earrings. You can make your magnetic earrings look just like real earrings with a few tools and a little patience.

Spread a newspaper to catch any glue you use. Superglue is very difficult to remove from furniture or wood, so be cautious.

Glue the earring backs to the magnetic backs with a small dab of superglue. Carefully place the traditional earring back on the surface, and move it around until it looks centred to you. Press down on the earring back slightly, to secure it.

Repeat this step with the other earring back. Try to make them both look as uniform as possible, to create the illusion of pierced ears.

Allow these pieces to dry for an hour or two. Don't place the pieces on your ears while they're still wet.

Place the front of the magnetic earring on the front of your ear lobe and your newly created back on the back.
