How to Make an Origami Cat Step-by-Step

Creating animals is one of the main focuses of origami, and is one of the reasons it is so popular with kids. The origami cat many patterns range from a simple cat face to a full 3D body creation. The basic cat face is the traditional model. Give personality to your cat with paint and markets, or add an origami hat to the top of the cat to create Dr. Seuss's classic Cat in The Hat character.

Turn your paper so it looks like a kite.

Fold the bottom corner up to the top corner, creating a triangle. Crease firmly.

Fold the left corner over to the right corner, creating a smaller triangle. Crease this fold firmly and then unfold this fold.

Lay your triangle so it lays flat. Fold up the left and right corners. These will be the ears.

Fold the top corner down toward you.

Flip over your paper and you have your cat. You can draw eyes, mouth and whiskers at this point.
