Lexmark #100 cartridges are black inkjet cartridges used in a wide array of Lexmark printers. When the ink in the cartridge runs low, it must either be replaced with a new cartridge or refilled in order to continue printing. Refilling the cartridge with ink is a less costly alternative to buying new cartridges. The Lexmark 100 comes in both black and colour varieties. The process for refilling each one is the same with the exception of the colour and amount of ink used.

Set the Lexmark 100 cartridge on a flat surface with some paper towels under it to absorb any dripped ink.

Fill a syringe with 13ml of ink if refilling a black Lexmark 100. Fill a syringe with 6ml of ink if refilling a colour cartridge.

Insert the syringe needle into the label at the point where the white section meets the black section, at an equal distance from the right and left sides. Lower the needle half way into the sponge inside the cartridge.

Slowly inject the ink into the cartridge.

Replace the cartridge into the Lexmark printer. Wait at least eight hours before printing so the ink can saturate the sponge inside the cartridge.
