How to Install Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin for Windows XP

Updated March 23, 2017

Adobe Flash is a framework for installing sound, animation and complex interactivity in Web pages, and it is still extremely popular among Web designers. To view pages designed in Flash, you need a version of Adobe's Flash player installed as a plugin in whatever browser you use to navigate the Web. You can download Flash Player 10 for free from Adobe's website.

Open the browser you want to install Flash in -- whichever browser you habitually use -- and go to the Flash download page.

Click the "Download" link if it appears by itself, or, if Operating System and Browser drop-down menus appear, select "Windows XP" and the name of your browser to download the Flash installation executable.

Double-click the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions to install Flash.
