Celebrate your favourite amphibian by making a variety of frog themed crafts. You can use your frog crafts as party favours and treats for a frog themed birthday party or use the crafts to keep bored children busy and entertained. If you do make crafts with children, take the opportunity to teach them a little about frogs while you work. Some kids may be more interested in learning about an animal while making toys and cupcakes than reading from a textbook.

Instructions

    Stuffed Frogs

  1. 1

Draw the outline of a frog's body onto a folded piece of green felt. Imagine the frog is laying on its stomach with its front and back legs extended to create a simple shape.

  2. 2

Cut the frog out of the folded felt with scissors. You now have two identical frog shapes.

  3. 3

Sew the two frog shapes together along the edges but leave a small opening so you can stuff it.

  4. 4

Fill the frog with cotton batting or cotton balls and sew the opening shut, when you are finished.

  5. 5

Hot glue googly eyes to one side of the frog to complete your project. You can also attach a red strip of felt to the frog to serve as a tongue and draw spots on the frog with a magic marker.

    Frog Party Blower

  1. 1

Cut the shape of a frog's face from a piece of green craft foam.

  2. 2

Use a craft knife to cut a small x where the frog's mouth should be on the piece of foam.

  3. 3

Hot glue googly eyes to the frog face.

  4. 4

Push the mouthpiece of a red party blower through the x on the frog's face. You can blow on the party blower and it will look like the frog is extending his tongue to catch a fly.

  5. 5

Cut frog legs from green craft foam and hot glue them to the back of the frog's face, if desired. This step is optional, but it will add to the finished appearance of your party blower.

    Frog Cupcakes

  1. 1

Bake cupcakes using your favourite recipe or a box of cake mix, and let the cupcakes cool completely.

  2. 2

Frost the top of each cupcake with icing tinted green. Add a few drops of green food colouring to the white.

  3. 3

Place a green jelly fruit slice candy on top of the cupcake to represent the top of the frog's mouth.

  4. 4

Cut a green gumdrop in half and arrange the halves on the cupcake -- behind the fruit slice candy -- to create the shape of the frog's eyes.

  5. 5

Attach a chocolate chip to each gum drop half with white icing, to give your cupcake frog pupils.
