Diverse cultures consider various birthdays as milestones: the 13th boys' birthday, or bar mitzvah, is very important for Jews; the first birthday called Dol and the 60th birthday are the greatest days for Koreans; the 21st and 50th birthdays are the most memorable days for people with European background. Depending on age and gender, people have different attitudes toward their birthdays: some of them do not like to even mention them. You, as the best friend, are the very person who can make this day happy and worth remembering.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Send a reminder about your best friend's birthday via e-mail to as many people as you can. Ask them to send an e-mail to your friend on her birthday. Your friend will know that many people remember this special day.

  2. 2

Phone the local radio station and ask them to broadcast your friend's favourite song or group. Make sure your friend will listen to this program at the particular time it will air.

  3. 3

Design a birthday card if you have artistic skills. Use collage technique, or draw or paint it. Compose a poem dedicated to your friend's birthday and write it down in a handmade birthday card.

  4. 4

Choose your shared best photos and use them for ordering a special calendar whose first date will start on your friend's birthday. Accompany each month of the calendar with a motto representing the best features of your friend's character.

  5. 5

Find out the exact time and place of your friend's birth and order a horoscope from a professional astrologist. Ask the astrologist to provide information on outstanding personalities born under the same Zodiac constellation. Your friend should know she is in good company. For example, if your friend is Taurus, stress that she might be as gifted as William Shakespeare, Sigmund Freud and Salvador Dali, who were Tauruses, as well.

  6. 6

Dedicate your new book, your new song, your painting's exhibition or a fashion collection to your friend's birthday, if you are a creative person.

  7. 7

Bake a cake for your friend and write your wishes on this cake with cream. This is the simplest way to make your friend feel happy.
