Updated July 20, 2017

Not knowing how to completely remove a program from your computer can be frustrating if the program keeps popping up on your screen. PokerStars software can be removed by using the "Uninstall a program" feature in your Windows environment, but the program may not be removed completely from the registry. You can manually edit the registry and remove any folders left behind in the registry. Back up the registry before making any changes.

Click the Windows "Start" button, type "Run" in the search text box and press "Enter" to open the Run dialogue box. Type "regedit" into the Run box and press "Enter" to open the Registry Editor.

Navigate to the following path in the registry:

Navigate to the folder called "PokerStars" and click the folder on the left pane of your screen. Double-click "UninstallString" on the right pane of your screen to open the "Edit String" window.

Right-click the string under "Value data:" and select "Copy" to copy the string. Click "Cancel," then exit the Registry Editor.

Click the Windows "Start" button, type "Run" in the search text box and press "Enter." Press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the string copied in the registry. Click "OK" to begin uninstalling PokerStars.
