How to Bypass Online Surveys

Updated February 21, 2017

Online surveys appear when browsing on various websites and can distract you from your work or delay an online purchase. Clicking the "x" in the top corner of the survey does not typically close the pop-up box and can cause another survey to appear, slowing your computer down. You can bypass online surveys in Mozilla Firefox by using your "Tools" menu and options within the drop-down menu.

Click on the Mozilla Firefox icon on your computer's desktop.

Navigate to a website on your computer that forces you to participate in an online survey.

Click "Tools" at the top of the page. Scroll down in the drop-down menu and click "Options."

Click "Content" in the options menu. Click on the box to the left "EnableJavaScript" so that a green check mark appears inside the box. Click "OK" at the bottom of the screen to return to the page where the survey was displayed.

Click the red "X" button at the top of the page as soon as the survey disappears from your screen to prevent your screen from blacking out.
