Robert Bosch Auto Parts GmbH is one of the world's largest auto parts suppliers. Based in Germany, the GmbH is a German acronym that stands for a "company with limited liability." Bosch fuel injectors are very common in most automobiles, and when dirty, they can become clogged, contributing to a host of engine problems. Cleaning fuel injectors can be a heavy duty endeavour and you shouldn't hesitate to leave it to a mechanic, but you can clean them yourself if you are so inclined.

Instructions

  1. 1

Locate the fuel injectors. Some fuel injectors are more easily accessible in some automobiles than others, so you may need a guide or manual to locate the Bosch fuel injectors in your particular vehicle.

  2. 2

Remove the fuel pump to stop up the fuel return. Disconnect your pressure regulator and remove the fuel cap from your gas tank.

  3. 3

Turn the ignition to be sure that the engine won't turn over with the fuel pump off.

  4. 4

Open the valve on the kit continuously until the pressure reading matches the one for your vehicle.

  5. 5

Run the cleaning solvent by starting the engine. Let the engine run until the solvent has passed through injectors, about five minutes. The engine will shut down.

  6. 6

Replace the gas cap, pressure regulator and fuel pump.

Tips and warnings

  • Wear eye protection around solvents.
  • Do not smoke or keep any open flame around solvent.
