How to gift wrap jewelry
Make the gift of jewellery more special with beautiful wrapping. (jewellery image by Julija Sapic from Fotolia.com)

Ask any marketing professional about product presentation, read any study about memory retention, and both will refer to the effectiveness of packaging. While the gift of jewellery alone can be stunning, the way in which it is wrapped can create an experience and lasting impression. Make the moment special by presenting the item in a package that is both elegant and easy to access.

Instructions

  1. 1

Locate a box that is small enough to hold the piece of jewellery securely. Depending upon the type of jewellery, it could be a small tin container, a traditional velvet ring box or small satin sachet.

  2. 2

Fill the box with cotton batting, tissue paper or pull apart cotton balls to fill the container. This will help keep the jewellery secure inside of the box.

  3. 3

Set the jewellery into the box. For a necklace or bracelet, place it so that any jewels or details on the piece are displayed. The piece can be secured to the batting or cotton balls with a piece of clear tape to ensure it does not slip.

  4. 4

Place the smaller jewellery box into a slightly larger gift box. The box can be plain white if you wish to wrap it, or decorative if the box will be given as is.

  5. 5

Wrap the larger box with wrapping paper and place a small ribbon or adornment, such as a decorative paper gift tag, onto the box.
