A werewolf is a shape-shifting creature that appears to be a normal human, but during full-moons, turns into a wolf-like creature. French folklore reports of a werewolf called the Beast of Gevauden who killed 80 adults and children during the 1760s in France. A werewolf is in between a wolf and a vicious dog, and werewolves have been popularised in films. You can make a skin tight werewolf suit by attaching fur material from a fabric store onto a full spandex bodysuit, which you can find at dance supply stores.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Spandex brown or grey bodysuit
- 2 yards brown or grey fake fur material
- White fabric pencil
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Werewolf mask
- Werewolf gloves
Wear the full bodysuit and look in the mirror. With the fabric pencil, mark lines for the waist, knees, ankles, shoulder and elbows. This will help when you are gluing on the fur in sections, otherwise, it will be hard to move if the fur is all one piece.
Place the bodysuit on top of the fur. Pin the bodysuit to the fur and cut out the shape of the bodysuit onto the fur with scissors. Repeat so you have two pieces of fur fabric the same shape as the bodysuit.
Place one of the fur pieces on top of the body suit. Cut it along where you made lines for the waist, knees, ankles, shoulder and elbows. Repeat this procedure with the other full piece of fur. Be sure you know which cut piece go where. One set of fur will be glued to the front and the other will be glued to the back of the bodysuit.
Glue each fur piece onto the right area of the bodysuit with the hot glue gun. Squeeze glue on one side and then push it into place. Then add more glue to the piece and press down, otherwise the glue may dry before you put it in the right place on the bodysuit. Repeat for the back of the costume.
Put on the bodysuit and the gloves and mask.
