Sewing machine lifts require experience with woodworking and mechanics to install and should ideally be done by someone who is famaliar with basic woodworking.

Determine what design you want for the sewing table. Search for sewing table designs on the Internet for ideas.

Measure the dimensions of the space for the sewing table. Measure space cabinets underneath the table, door swing and chair area.

Purchase a sewing table with lift plan that fits the design and dimensions of your available space. Purchase the required lift mechanism to install in the sewing table. Sewing table plans that include a lift mechanism have sketches the of table, shelf and cabinet dimensions. The sewing table portion includes instructions for making a rectangular hole in the table to install the lift mechanism.

Hire someone to build (or build yourself) the sewing table using the plan. When finished with the sewing table, install the lift mechanism according to the instructions.
