How to Use Viera Surround Sound

Updated February 21, 2017

The Panasonic Viera is a flat screen, LCD based, high-definition television system. Although you have the option of connecting outside audio equipment to the TV, the Viera system has a built-in surround sound replicating option. This gives the illusion of a surround-sound system, without actually purchasing a rather expensive speaker set. Activating the equipment only takes a few minutes and once on, the Panasonic Viera takes care of the audio playback features for you.

Power on the Panasonic Viera television system.

Press the "Menu" button on the Panasonic Viera remote control. This loads a list of control options on the television screen.

Select "Audio," then push the down directional button on your remote control until you highlight "Surround Sound." Turn the option "On," then exit out of the television menu. The Panasonic Viera surround-sound setting now becomes active and emulates all surround sounds with its two-speaker system. You don't need to perform any other actions as the television does all the rest (there are no other controls for the surround sound setting).
