How to Take Apart an Electrolux Vacuum

Updated February 21, 2017

You might want to take apart your Electrolux vacuum before storing it for a prolonged period of time or if you are moving homes and need to conserve space. Electrolux vacuum cleaners have several parts that are easy to remove. Allow roughly 10 minutes for this task.

Pinch the clip above where the main suction pipe meets the body of the vacuum. Open the lid and pull out the dirt bag by its cardboard top.

Break the rigid section of the vacuum arm into four pieces. The main pipe can be pulled apart into four sections: the handle connected to the suction pipe, two middle sections of pipe and the base section connected to the floor-based suction head.

Pull out the suction pipe from the body of the vacuum cleaner. It connects just below the latch for the dirt bag holder.

Coil up the plastic suction pipe as you would a length of rope. Tie it together with string, if necessary, to stop it unrolling.
