American Tourister, now a part of Samsonite, is a popular option for the traveller looking for inexpensive, durable luggage. Like most luggage, American Tourister features locks on many of their bags to prevent their contents from being stolen. It is important to set a code for the lock when you buy it, and lock it diligently, otherwise you run the risk of having your bag pilfered. Once you set your lock, do not forget the code, as it would have to be reset by a Samsonite dealer.
Rotate the numbered wheels on the lock so that they read 0-0-0-0.
Hold down the reset button on the side of the lock. While holding the button, rotate the lock wheels to your desired code.
Release the reset button. Your combination has now been set.
For maximum security, don't set the combination to your birth date or any number of significance that someone else could know.
