How to Get Rid of Polish Streaks on an LCD TV

Updated February 21, 2017

Often when you use improper cleaning solutions on your LCD television screen, the cleaner dries and leaves behind a film of streaky residue. When this happens, not only does the television itself look improperly cared for, but the picture itself can often display at a lesser quality than it should. When this happens, you must use something that is safe for the LCD screen, cleans off the polish streaks and dries free of residue.

Turn off and unplug your LCD TV.

Spray two squirts of screen cleaning spray onto a microfiber cloth. This spray is available at any electronics store.

Wipe the damp cloth in small circular motions over the entire LCD screen, applying light pressure as needed to remove the polish streaks.

Allow the television screen to air dry, and repeat if you see any remaining streak marks.

Use the screen cleaning spray each time you need to clean the television for an effective way to clean without leaving streak marks. Always remember to spray onto the cloth, then wipe, instead of spraying directly onto the LCD screen as this can cause damage to the screen.
