How to Use Custom Maternity Clothes in Sims 2
Just as in real life, your "Sims" character can become pregnant. (pregnant image by AGphotographer from Fotolia.com)

"The Sims 2" is a popular computer game released by Maxis in 2004. The game is known not only for the extra content (called "expansion packs") that has been released for it, but also for fan-made creations that can be downloaded for free. Players are able to add new houses, objects, characters and clothes -- including maternity clothes for pregnant Sims.

Instructions

  1. 1

Download Squinge's mod for "The Sims 2" at Sims2Cri.com This small program will allow pregnant Sims to wear any type of clothing. Select the version of the mod that matches the version of the game you want to use it on. For example if you have "The Sims 2: Nightlife" expansion pack installed, you need to download the mod that supports that version. Several pregnancy mods by Squinge can be found on the website.

  2. 2

Extract the downloaded file. You can use a free archive manager program like WinZip or the build-in zip support of newer versions of Windows. The file should be extracted to "C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads" for the game to recognise it.

  3. 3

Download a custom maternity outfit. There are lots of sites that offer free custom maternity Sims outfits. One such site is SkySims2.com. The outfits should be placed in the same folder to which the mod was extracted. Some custom maternity outfits are in "WinRAR" format and can be extracted using the free program from RarLab.com.

  4. 4

Start the game. The custom maternity outfits can be bought at a community lot inside the game. Scroll through the outfit types to find the maternity clothes.

  5. 5

Click on the wardrobe and change into the outfit. The pregnant Sim should now be wearing custom maternity clothes.
