How to Adjust a Bushnell Scope

The Bushnell line of rifle scopes are quality scopes designed for a variety of shooting applications. The scopes are constructed well and are waterproof. The long-range models are equipped to compensate for parallax error -- the illusion of false target movement sometimes encountered at high magnification setting caused by shifts in the shooter's line of sight. Additionally some models of Bushnell scopes are equipped with illuminated crosshairs, which can help you acquire your target in lowlight situations.

    Zero in your Bushnell scope by adjusting the dials located at the centre of the scope body. Zeroing is setting your scope crosshairs to intersect at the projected point of impact of the rifle's bullet. You can zero in your scope either by using a bore-sighter -- a device which indicates the spot where the bullet should hit -- or by a firing a live bullet, noting where it hits the target and adjusting your scope to that spot. You can adjust the crosshairs horizontally by rotating the dial on the right side of the scope clockwise for left or counterclockwise for right. Similarly you can adjust the crosshairs vertically by rotating the top dial clockwise for down or counter-clockwise for up. You will be able to tell if your scope is properly zeroed if your rifle is hitting the spot on your target that you scope is centred on.

    Adjust your scope's magnification setting by rotating the variable power ring on the eyepiece to the desired setting.

    Adjust your scope for parallax error -- if your scope is so equipped -- by setting the objective bell, at the far end of the scope, to the known range of your target.

    Set the illumination level of your crosshairs -- if your model has illuminated crosshairs and the lighting conditions warrant illumination -- by setting the dial located just above the eyepiece. The setting of zero is the off position and the illumination intensity increases as the numbers increase.
