The Ricoh Aficio 3030 is a 30-page-per-minute, multifunctional digital copier that can copy, fax, print and scan. Once a print/scan board is installed, the 3030 can be set up to scan directly to a networked folder or to a specified e-mail inbox. If your 3030 does not have a scan board installed, it cannot be used as a network scanner.

Connect Ricoh copier to the network using network cables. Most networks use CAT 5 cables. This cable is plugged into the print/scan board on the left side of the copier towards the rear of the machine.
Install scanning software. The drivers for the 3030 scanner either came with the Ricoh 3030 and is stored on the installation CD, or can be downloaded from the Ricoh support site. The driver must be installed on a network server.
Create shared folders. Creating these folders on a shared network drive allows users to access their scanned images.
Map Ricoh 3030 scanner to shared folders. On the Ricoh 3030, select the "User Tools" button. Once in this menu, select "Scanner Features." This opens the settings menu for the scanner. Choose "Destination" to point the scanner to shared folders, or enter user e-mails if you want the scanner to send images directly to a user's e-mail inbox.
Run test scans. Scan several documents through the 3030 to see if the scanning connection and folder mapping is set up correctly. Check the shared folders (or have the sender check her inbox) to verify that the scanned images were delivered.
