How to Make a Halo for a Dark Angel Costume

Create a halo for a Dark Angel costume. Dark Angel costumes typically use black as the predominate colour. Achieve this look by using black pipe cleaners and a feather boa. Both products come in a variety of styles and textures, including glittery or with silver flecks. The halo should sit over your head, but you can shift its exact location by moving the pipe cleaners on the headband to different positions.

Plug in the glue gun to preheat it. Have extra hot glue sticks laying nearby for when you need them later in the project. Replace the sticks as they run out.

Wrap the ends of two pipe cleaners around the top of the headband. Apply a large dot of hot glue over the area where the pipe cleaner meets the headband and let dry. Wrap the pipe cleaners in black wire.

Lay three to four pipe cleaners in a line. Twist the ends together to make a circle. Apply a line of hot glue over the top of the entire circle. Wrap the feather boa around the circle. Trim off the excess feather boa.

Wrap the end of the pipe cleaners attached to the headband to the circle. Reinforce the area by wrapping an extra pipe cleaner around the area.
