Favour boxes shaped like a slice of cake make a cute favour for any occasion. Make cake slice boxes out of card stock and fill the completed boxes with candy or other goodies. The wide array of card stock available in stores allows you to customise cake slice boxes for weddings, birthdays, showers or baptisms. Arrange the completed favour boxes to look like an actual cake and use them as a centrepiece or decoration for the event. At the end, each guest takes a "slice" home with them.

  1. 1

Choose card stock and embellishments that complement your event. For instance, use wedding-themed card stock for wedding favours, and baby-themed card stock for baby shower favours. Use items such as ribbons, beads, flowers or stickers to decorate the folded favour box.

  2. 2

Print a cake box template. Use a copy machine to enlarge or reduce the template to the desired size. Consider the items that will be placed into the finished box to help you determine the needed size.

  3. 3

Cut out the template along the solid outer lines only.

  4. 4

Use the template as a guide and cut the card stock.

  5. 5

Mark the cut card stock to indicate where the folds will be made by following the dotted lines on the template.

  6. 6

Fold the card stock into a triangle-shaped box. Use the guide marks you made and begin by selecting a triangle to be the bottom of the box. Working on a flat surface, fold each dotted line up and over the bottom triangle. Use a scoring tool to press down the fold. Refer to the template for proper folding, as needed.

  7. 7

Create a slit in the tab that will be the back of the box, as indicated on the template.

  8. 8

Fold the card stock into a cake slice shape. Glue the tabbed folds for the front and top of the box. Fold them, one at a time, into the box and hold firmly for a few seconds for the glue to set.

  9. 9

Fill the box with your favour, such as small chocolates, Jordan almonds, jelly beans or candy corn. Place small, loose candies into a bag or netting before placing in the box.

  10. 10

Finish the box by folding the back flaps in toward the box. Fold the flat end in first, followed by the shaped end. Tuck the tab into the slit in the flat end.

  11. 11

Decorate your cake slice favour box by adding ribbon, flowers, stickers or other items that complement your favour box and coordinate with your event. Add a gift tag.
