Apple's Macintosh operating system features built-in programs that make it easy for you to set up and use peripheral electronics, such as printers and scanners. These programs go to work when the operating system detects that an electronic device has been plugged into an available USB port, eliminating the process of installing device drivers in most cases. Once you connect your Mac with your Dell V305 printer, you'll be able to print documents and photos with a few clicks.
Plug the Dell V305 printer into an available power outlet and then plug the printer's USB cord into an available USB port in your Macintosh computer.
Press the power button on your printer.
Open the document that you wish to print and click "File," then "Print."
Click the "Print" button if you see "Dell V305" listed in the "Printer" drop-down menu.
If you do not see your printer in the list, click the "Add Printer" button. Search the list of printers and select "Dell V305." Click on "Add."
Close the dialogue box. Click "File," then "Print."
Your computer should automatically detect the printer after you plug it in or once you search for available printers. If it does not, ensure that the USB cord is securely in place and restart the computer.
