How to Retrieve Voicemail From a Landline

Updated March 23, 2017

You can retrieve your mobile phone's voice mail from a landline phone. Voice mail messages can be left for you when you are unable to answer your mobile phone. When a message is left, you will be notified on your mobile phone. When you first established your voice mail, you were prompted to create a passcode. The passcode can be used to access your voice mail from a landline phone when you are unable to call the voice mail system from your mobile phone.

Pick up your landline phone's handset and dial your mobile phone number.

Press the "*" key when your voice mail greeting begins.

Enter the passcode for your mobile phone's voice mail when prompted.

Listen to your voice mail messages, then hang up the handset when you're finished.

Depending on your mobile carrier, you may need to press "#" instead of "*" to access the voice mail system.
