LG is a major electronics company that manufactures a variety of devices including high-definition televisions. Although remote controls are meant to make your life easier, they can quickly become confusing when you have to use multiple remotes for multiple devices. LG, however, designed its television remotes to be able to control other electronic devices. You simply have to program the remote before using it with other devices.

Power on the device that you want to program with your LG remote. For example, turn on your DVD player, cable or satellite receiver, or VCR.

  • LG is a major electronics company that manufactures a variety of devices including high-definition televisions.
  • Power on the device that you want to program with your LG remote.

Select the device by pressing on the "MODE" button at the top of the remote control. The device key lights up when selected.

Press the "POWER" button and the "MUTE" button simultaneously.

Press the "CHANNEL UP" button repeatedly until the device turns off. Pressing the "CHANNEL UP" button cycles through each device code until the remote locates the correct device. Alternatively, you can look up and manually enter the three-digit code. After you enter the correct code, the device will turn off.
