Asus L3 laptop models are held together similarly by screws on the back panel and sides that must be removed for access to the inside components. While disassembling any laptop there is a risk of electrostatic discharge, or ESD, that can destroy the hardware. To minimise the risk of ESD, remove all jewellery, stand on a rubber floor and have the laptop on a metal surface while doing the repair. Put all similar screws in separate containers to ease reassembling.

Gently raise and unplug the keyboard. Directly beneath the plug for the keyboard, unplug the touch pad. On the middle of the top panel, disconnect the display by unplugging the wire. To the far right of the same panel, disconnect the beeper in the same manner.
