AVG is a popular free antivirus application that is available for download on the Internet. Occasionally--perhaps because of a damaged installation or a hardier-than-average virus--you may find yourself needing to reset the permissions used by AVG so that it can continue to function properly. Fortunately, the team behind AVG has produced a small application designed to do exactly that.

Download the AVG Free access reset program from the link in the "Resources" section.
Launch the install file once it has finished downloading. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the application onto your hard drive.
Open "My Computer" and browse to where you installed the program in step two.
Launch the "Reset Access" .BAT file. This will reset all the permissions that pertain to your AVG program. If prompted, reboot your computer.
